"Could I have more information regarding your Accelerated Program?"
Our Accelerated lessons cover performance, music theory, ear training, sight-reading, and technique. The classes are one hour and in a group setting. Although the classes are considered "group", all students are at their own instrument with a set of headphones so they can work independently. With that said, our classes can be very diverse in age and level. There are at least 2 teachers per group (sometimes we have 3) which gives our students even more opportunities to excel considering we all teach very differently and cover diverse material. The idea is to give each student a "task" or "goal" throughout the hour class period in which they work through on their own, to signal a teacher they are struggling or have a question. If they are ready and completed the task, they then signal with their "Ready" card. Now, in order to complete a task and proceed with putting up one of their cards, whether that is a song, worksheet, sight reading, etc., it must be mastered. This gives them more opportunity to practice, and become more fluent in what they are learning. With this approach, students progress at a faster rate.
Recitals and Performance Opportunities
We offer our Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, and Harp students the opportunity to perform in Studio Recitals at least twice a year (not mandatory). Ensemble opportunities, music festivals, and other events (competitive and non-competitive) are also available to interested students.
We love referrals!
We really like it when current families recommend us and help us to bring in new students (this helps us greatly with advertising, and friends and neighbors are great to work with!), so we reward referrals with a free lesson credit, as well as a discount to the incoming family.
No Long-Term Commitment
We do not ask our families to sign long-term contracts...lessons simply continue on a month-by-month basis.
Great Hours & Convenient Scheduling for Siblings
Lunchtime and afternoon classes available for homeschoolers, retirees, college students, and working professionals. Later evening/after work classes are also available. Siblings and other family members can schedule their lessons at the same time, for convenience.
We take care of the music book shopping
No need to shop around for music books and sheets. We make sure we're supplied with all necessary materials so students have them when needed and parents don't have to make an extra trip to the music store.
Great Location, Space, Waiting Area
The Music Studio is centrally located near the Stafford Courthouse, convenient to schools, convenience stores, grocery, and the post office. We have spacious teaching studios, a kitchen, bathroom, and a comfortable waiting area for parents and siblings.
Trophies, Certificates, and Award Wrist Bands to celebrate achievement
We are the only music school in the Stafford area that gives their students the opportunity to earn special color wristband bracelets (kids and teens love them!), trophies AND certificates for passing musical tests through a patented program. The Musical Ladder® system is our unique method of music education that you will only find at The Music Studio. More importantly, when our students have a test coming up, they practice more, their parents are proud, their teachers are proud, and everybody wins.
Our students are great practicers and sightreaders!
We use a unique teaching style and method that allows our students to move through their lesson books faster and more thoroughly than most private lessons. In addition, our longer 60-minute weekly sessions give students time to cover a lot of music, leading to higher reading skills. Students who read music easily and fluently enjoy their lessons and keep playing!
We're a trusted hometown business with a great reputation
The Music Studio has been providing excellence in music instruction in the Stafford/Fredericksburg area since 2005. All our teachers have been local residents almost all their lives, and many were teaching privately in their home studios prior to joining our team. Be sure to check out our Testimonials page to see what our students are saying about their lessons!
Miss a lesson? No problem!
We have class times available Monday - Friday, during and after school. Students can easily reschedule their lesson onto a different day should they have a conflict.
The most qualified teaching staff
All our teachers have collegiate musical training, degrees, professional education experience, and performance experience. In addition to their teaching credentials, they have warm personalities and believe that learning is best in a safe, nurturing environment.
No retail, we're all about your music lessons
The Music Studio offers lessons in Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, and Harp...and everything is about the students and learning. Our dedicated teachers give their undivided attention to working with students - not the front desk, music sales, or instrument rentals. And, we pride ourselves on a comfortable, clean, home-like learning environment.
